Freshwater
The Freshwater Biome is made up of rivers, lakes, ponds, and streams. This aquatic biome does not have salt, unlike the Marine biome. This biome is inside continents, never outside because it would mix with the salty ocean.
Precipitation and Temperature
Like the Marine biome, the average temperature and climate depend on the location.
Animal and Plant Life
Freshwater fish like trout, bass, catfish, bullhead, and crappie are found in all ecosystems. Insects like the water skipper lay their eggs and live on the surface of the water. Frogs and turtles live on or near the water, too. Some kinds of plants also live in the freshwater. Catttails, lilypads, sedges, and black spruce are some examples.
