Savanna
The savanna is made up of dry grasslands with giant herbivores and ferocious carnivores. A big portion of savanna is located Africa. This biome has the largest herbivores in existence.
Precipitation and Temperature
The savanna gets a lot of its rain in the summer months. 10-30 inches or 100-150 centimeters annually is pretty average for this biome. The temperatures in this biome stay pretty consistent the whole year. It stays about 78-68 degrees Fahrenheit all year round because savannas are mostly located near the Equator.
Animal and Plant Life
The savanna is home to largest herbivores on the planet. Elephants, zebras, gazelles, giraffes, and red-flanked duikers are a few of them. The carnivores: lions, hyenas, leopards, cheetahs, and alligators feast on the herbivores, keeping the food chain in balance. Various types of grasses and trees like the Baobab and Eucalyptus trees are found here.
